Fiat Automobiles S.p.A., or FIAT, meaning “Italian Automobiles Factory, Turin”, is an Italian automobile manufacturer founded on July 11, 1899 by Giovanni Agnelli and partners. They produced their first car, the Fiat 4 HP in 1900.
Today, FIAT is a subsidiary of FCA S.p.A. which is part Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (previously Fiat S.p.A.) which was formed in January 2007 when Fiat reorganized its business structure to include the purchase of Chrysler.
